Scope:
Ground movement and construction of a 5-level-tank for use as a free-water separation tank, located in the Dehydrating Plant PLD-3 in the field.
Achieved challenges:
- Identification of the welding process: Semi-automatic welding with MIG root passes, using tubular wire filling instead of regular SMAW.
- Supply of equipment: Miller PIPEPRO 350, and FIELD PRO Smart Feeder with RMD/ pulse technology, consumables for torches, solid and tubular wires.
- Training of the technical welding team for the performance of the project
Summary:
The work performed under FLOPOWER recommendations allowed a faster and cleaner welding process with minimum weld rejection margins. The use of the Miller Pipepro 350 FieldPro System delivered an excellent RMD and pulse MIG welding, and helped to reduce weld failures considerably. Moreover, there was a significant reduction in the number of hours worked by the assigned technical welding staff, as well as production costs reduction associated to the project.
