Scope:
Equipment handling and use at full capacity, training program of welders and operators in the Operational field area of Z & P Company located in Barcelona, Anzoátegui, Venezuela.uela.
Achieved challenges:
- Identification of needs in the welding process: Welding Automation using special orbital welding equipment for high diameter pipes.
- Supply of equipment: MILLER PIPEWORRX 400 and MAGNATECH PIPELINER II 609, consumables for torches, solid and tubular wires.
- Training program welding for the performance of the project.o.
Summary:
As a fundamental part of the construction phase of the Dragon – Cigma pipeline project, the complete consulting study was carried out to solve requirements and needs of welding processes for this project. FLOPOWER implemented a welding program training to use a Miller PipeWorx 400, including handling, training and hands-on practices to welders for MIG process with RMD technology. Root passes with solid wire were carried out. Next stage was to train personnel in the use of the Magnatech Pipeliner II 609 equipment, carried out within Z&P company facilities. Challenges were successfully met under outlined recommendations that enabled to perform a fast and clean welding process with low welding rejection margin using this high-tech orbital automated welding equipment. There was a significant reduction in the number of hours worked by the assigned technical welding staff, as well as a production cost reduction effect associated to the Project.
